Women Leading Climate Action: SHE Changes Climate
In 2024, SHE launched local networks in Brazil, Kenya, and India – recognizing that women and girls are often hardest hit by climate change. In Zimbabwe, Tafadzwa Kurotwi, founder of the Emerald Climate Hub, leads a growing network pushing for local, systemic change.
At COP28, 17 ambassadors from 15 countries represented women’s voices. But progress remains slow – just 10% of speakers at UN climate events during UNGA 2024 were women.
Looking ahead, SHE Changes Climate’s ambassadors will actively participate in COP30 in Belém, Brazil. Its annual Women in Climate Leadership Status Report tracks progress and holds decision-makers accountable.
As the movement grows, SHE Changes Climate becomes an ever-growing force, empowering women as leaders in the fight for a just and resilient climate future.
