In 2007, we adopted an abandoned ruin dating from the Portuguese colonial period in Cabaceiras Grande, northern Mozambique. In 2008, with Stichting de Boomgaard, we restored and equipped Bom Futuro Primary School in Cabaceira Grande.

The building got a new roof, and was furnished in 2008. The roof had to be redone due to damage by Cyclone Jokwe on March 8, 2008. Finally, the building was transformed into a primary school for at least 400 children who received education in the open air until then. It was christened Escola Bom Futuro and inaugurated on June 27, 2008.
