De Boomgaard Foundation was established on May 12, 2005 as a private foundation donation of two philanthropists with the aim of "supporting institutions operating on idealistic principles, charities or not-for-profit organisations". The Foundation was ranked as public benefit organisation and can make and receive tax-free donations. On 18 October 2013 the tax authorities informed that the ANBI status was prolonged.

In 2008, an independent board was formed in accordance with the Dutch rules for charities on 1 January 2008.

Hence the founders of De Boomgaard can do something extra for a cause we feel connected with. We wish to contribute socially. Our personal commitment precisely lies there where we see an opportunity to create chances for a better future for children and young people.
