As an authority on animal welfare and animal rights in the Netherlands, Karen Soeters has been working tirelessly with House of Animals for over 10 years to end animal suffering. She is tracking down and exposing abuses of animals and is bringing animal welfare regularly to people's attention.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, House of Animals has been providing structural emergency assistance to dogs, cats and horses. This has saved tens of thousands of war-affected animals from starvation.

Annemiek Hoogenboom (1952) started her career as a lecturer at several international universities and she later focused on global water management, empowerment of women and girls and free press in Eastern Europe.

Boudewijn Poelmann

Boudewijn Poelmann (1949) is the founder of Novamedia in 1983 and co-founder of the Dutch Postcode Lottery in 1989. Before setting up Novamedia he worked for Novib as a fund-raiser thereby increasing the membership tenfold.
