The Cornerstone Foundation helps vulnerable school leavers in Rwanda with vocational training and thus to gain a solid foundation for life. It is the Great Lakes Hospitality Institute which trains young people to become professionals in the hotel and restaurant industry by teaching them the essential basic skills.

Aspiring young Rwandese are often unable to attend college due to financial constraints or because they did not score high enough in their high school to qualify for a scholarship. At the Great Lakes Hospitality Institute young people learn a large number of basic skills in just 14 months. This course fills a gap in the market by focusing on small groups, and providing intensive English lessons, entrepreneurship, leadership and job application training.

Life Skills workshops help young people to discover how they can take their own lives to a higher level, and how they can build a meaningful life and become full members of society.
