DIIF has a preference for companies which adopt 'Steward Ownership'. In this structure all shares of a company are hold by a foundation, which therefore officially becomes the company’s owner. According to the foundation's articles of association, it then can no longer be bought or sold. This removes personal financial incentives. When selecting social enterprises, DIIF uses a network of other investment or impact funds.
